The "F" Word

The graphic itself may seem interesting , especially in a “spiritual” setting like a church magazine.
However, this is the very way the world feels when you say “I’m a Christian”. It’s a state of uncomfortable shock to them just as it would be if what you think this “F” word is. The graphic is to play on the word “FAITH”: having faith, sharing our faith and/ or living by faith has become a taboo conversation piece, especially for students.

The human mind rejects what it does not understand or have taken the time to learn. This is why as Christians we reject the opportunities to walk by faith and not by sight. In the moments when we have the best opportunities to not share with our mouths but share with our actions the gospel of Jesus Christ, we blow it. We are afraid to walk by the faith God has given us and believe in this unseen God. We don't know why we believe what we believe, so we don't know how to do it and don't. This creates environments for the Christian being to force itself to get frustrated and reject the chance to live Christ. Then when the next moment comes, we remember the frustration of the last time this “moment” came and the failures of it and we look at that moment as a dangerous thing to do or say? Just as the illusion of the word in this graphic.

If you can follow my thought process you will see the evident truth that “faith” is the new “F” word. TV shows late at night now have a time where major networks will allow the curse word beginning with “F” to fly out of the mouths of characters for the sake of emphasis. However, at no point can Christians proclaim our “F” word of faith without being ridiculed as their point of emphasis as to our ignorance.

So rather than fight to know what we need to defend our faith, or sacrifice what we must to live by faith amongst the nay-sayers. We retreat to accepting defeat and concede to the victors.

I can’t believe Christians, Christians, I said CHRISTIANS will be so fearful (hey there's a new “F” word) of standing up to the enemies no matter the cost. I mean according to the Word of God, the battle is the Lords but the Victory is ours (Deut. 20:4). So what do we have to fear? If He is before us, who can be against us (Rom. 8:31).

Now, take that faith filled emotion and share your faith. Without reserve, BUT do not give the world reason to look at Christians as attacking beliefs, bigots, hypocrites, right winged propaganda pushing, gay hating, racist. Share your faith by living like Christ so that your sharing of faith comes from one asking: “Who are you, and why you are so…. Different?” Then you have a chance to say “I am a Christian.” and they don't look at you like… well you know!

All the jitters are setting in. Less then a week from holla back and so much to do so many expectations. Tomorrow I play golf to settle down. Now to read "they like Jesus but not the church"
